Advice I Wish I Listened To

"You have a right to experiment with your life. You will make mistakes. And they are right too."
-Anais Nin

It's really easy to reflect back on our life and think, "I should have, could have, would have." However, it never happens that way. If we were given the choice to start over, we'd most likely make the same mistakes.

My biggest mistake in life was wasting so much time with the wrong people. It's hard to even regret it because I learned so many lessons and would not make the same mistake twice.

When you're deep into something or someone, it's really hard to see what's so obvious to others. You try to fight it, ignore it, make excuses for it, focus on the good because you believe it outweighs the bad; even though in your heart of hearts, something doesn't feel right.

If you're constantly questioning something or someone, it's imperative that you listen to what your inner voice is trying to tell you.

  • Are you making the same mistake twice? When you've worked so hard to let go of the first one.
  • Are you repeating the same behaviors and patterns?
  • Are you receiving the same advice from the people around you?

As we grow older and wiser, we can no longer tolerate the things we used to.  It's our past that helps us discover our best present.
